Sahih Hadith contradicts Quran?

one suspects that, much as jesus's and moses's (et al.) statements always are understood to be referring only to jews, so the statement in the qur'an is meant to refer to muslims only (the bearer and the other are umed to be muslims). this would remove the contradiction.
