Am I starting off wrong with this guy? First date we went dutch. Second date I paid?
I met a guy on a popular internet dating site. He lives in San Diego & I live in LA. For our first date we met halfway in the OC, and when the check came I offered to split the bill. I was surprised when he quickly accepted my offer. For our second date, he drove up from San Diego, and when the bill arrived, I said "let me, because you traveled 2 hours; its the least I can do." Again he let me (even though he was the one who asked me out and offered to drive). Now these bills are not expensive $41, and $35 respectively. I don't have a problem showing my independence, but in offering I was merely testing his manners and manhood. I think we make comparable salaries. He is an environmental engineer from MIT & Stanford and I'm a high level education administrator from Harvard & Georgetown. He wants a 3rd date, but does he deserve it if he doesn't even insist on paying? Is it appropriate to bring up my concerns? Is it possible to turn this situation around? Does anyone support his side
