Why would LeBron James want to go to the New York Knicks? they are not a Championship contending team?

and plus, James Dolan, owner of the Knicks, is one of the worst owners in the NBA, probably the Donald Sterling of the East. There are all these rumors and speculation that LeBron will go to the New York Knicks since he becomes a free agent this Summer, but seriously, why the Knicks? I doubt he would get his first ring with the Knicks.
