Has anyone else seen Jonathan Mover (sub for Prairie Prince) lose it backstage at a Tubes show?
For years I have heard that the Tubes were, musically, one of the best bands around. Finally got a chance to see them in Nashville on 6/13/08. Paid for the best seats I could get, so we could do a "meet and greet" before the show. For the 45 seconds I was in the room, Jonathan Mover (subbing for Prairie Prince) kept up a running monologue about how people from Nashville "are too busy raping horses to appreciate good musicianship." I was completely taken aback, and just glad to get out of that room. I am originally from NY, have played in bands/hung out with other musicians for many years, and know that this kind of talk goes on - in private - before a show. I have never witnessed a professional act like this in front of fans. I did not pay to hear it, and it ruined an otherwise good concert. (Fee Waybill was awesome.) Has anyone else experienced Mover's "witty repartee?"
