Alpha Kappa Alpha Graduate Chapter?

I'm interested in becoming a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha through graduate chapter. I am aware of the process and requirements, but I understand that the chapters do not like being solicited. I've contacted chapters for information about public events, as well as checked calendars that are open to the public. Needless to say, there are none. How can I go about politely requesting information so that I become more acquainted with the members?
